ANNUAL REPORT 2016

Dear friends

On behalf of the Executive Committee it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to this meeting and to present the 13th annual report and audited accounts of RRVRPOA for the financial year ended 31st March 2016.

We would like to inform members of the demise of Mrs Shirazi who passed away a few monhs ago in Hyderabad. We offer our condolences to her daughter Sama and other members of her family.

Accounts:
The audited accounts were sent to you together with the notice of the meeting . We continue to have a surplus because of our prudent management. We have constituted a reserve of app RS 60 lacs over the past 12 years which, in the absence of a sinking fund, will help us to fund infrastructure work as and when required. This would not have been possible without the cooperation of members who pay their annual dues on time.

We have decided to maintain the AMC at Rs 8000 upto the year 2017/18 when we will have to consider an increase to meet the increased costs.

The year in review:
We have had a difficult year. As already informed we discovered financial improprieties on the part of the previous estate manager. As a result we went through a difficult and unsettling period and much time and effort was spent in rectifying errors and retrieving the situation. I would like to express my thanks to the members of the EC for their support at this time.

As a result we have been unable to concentrate on development work. We were unable to proceed with the implementation of refurbishment plans for the CH which have been prepared .

We laid down storm drains in a sector that had no storm drains and these drains will improve the yield from pump 7. This is in implementation of one of the recommendations of Water Literacy Foundation. Other recommendations will be taken up this year. We have identified a spot for drilling another bore well and this is planned for the next week. We hope that we will strike water.

Membership:
We can be proud of our efforts in creating a unified group. We cannot make RRV a vibrant community without greater commitment from its members. More homes need to come up and more people need to visit over the weekends. Above all, we need more people to help share the task of managing RRV.

I take this opportunity to thank the estate manager and all the staff as well as all my fellow members who served on the EC this year.
