ANNUAL REPORT 2013

Friends

On behalf of the Executive Committee it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to this meeting and to present the 10th annual report and the audited accounts of RRVRPOA for the financial year ended 31st March 2013. We can all be proud of our efforts in maintaining RRV and in creating a sense of community over the past 10 years.

Accounts:
Thanks to our prudent management we continue to have a surplus which is transferred to reserves and which will be used in due course for the maintenance and improvement of the infrastructure as and when the need arises.

We notice however that our costs are rising sharply and if we are to continue to maintain RRV and carry over a surplus to reserves we will have to raise the AMC next year. The current AMC of Rs 7000 pa has been maintained for the past 4 years. Labour / electricity costs have risen sharply over the past few years and we will have no choice but to raise the AMC soon.

We have also taken steps from this year to recover the TDS amounts.

Current projects:
The entire estate has been re fenced. Members will notice that the general upkeep of RRV is much better. This is thanks to the constant efforts of our estate manager and staff and the supervision of members of the EC. We have also been able to avoid the wild fires this year.

Last year we took up the matter of ascertaining the yield of our exisiting bore wells in order to take steps to improve the yield and take steps to augment our water resources. Unfortunately the expert is not satisfied with the results of the tests and proposes to start the process all over again. We will follow this up.

We have been granted a water connection from the local panchayat and we have also been promised water from the Hoggenakkal scheme.

We regret that we have not been able to come up with plans for the improvement of the facilities at the CH. The question of repairs to the CH and the use of the CH facilities is a matter for discussion at the 10th AGM.

Membership:
Our membership grows and we thank all those members who have been so cooperative in paying their arrears in the form of instalments. We have still not been able to contact some members and there are some members who still refuse to join the association and pay their dues. This is a shame and it is unfair to expect to be subsidised,

We plan to start a g mail group where members will be able to interact with one another and make their comments and suggestions.

Looking Ahead:
We cannot continue to run RRV without greater commitment from its members. The existing EC members cannot be expected to spend more time on RRV matters> If we were to hand over the running of RRV to professionals our AMC would treble easily. Hence the need for more volunteers especially from Banagalore based members to give a few hours per week to help run RRV.

I take this opportunity to thank all those who served on the EC this year.
